Statement

In my still life oil paintings, I capture poetic beauty and jewel tone color combinations.  I explore color and contrast in my floral paintings to show the harmonizing, symphony of colors in nature.  I paint the fleeting life of flowers from my garden to evoke drama and emotion.  I usually paint Peonies because they only last approximately two weeks in my garden.  I have had formal training at the Ridgewood Art Institute in Ridgewood, New Jersey for oil paintings of live floral still life using the prismatic palette, atmospheric effect and increased value contrast technique and I have also had three years of formal training of still life in oil at The Arts Council of Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey.
