"Bobby" has 3 albums, a music documentary (This Time), and many awards for performing. "Bobby Belfry is one to savor, embrace, and lend the hand of fame to" BILLBOARD As a visual artist, he has been commissioned by many people around the country to produce paintings and illustrations, most notably Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
StatementRobert Belfry: I have been an artist since I was a toddler. There never seemed to be enough blank paper in our home, on which I could draw, so I used the blank pages at the back of our collection of encyclopedias and rare Dickens novels. My fellow students often looked over my shoulder as I created something in class, and that at once was exhilarating, and the seed from which my love of live performing was born. My appreciation of art began in high school, with my teacher Mr. Lester Packer. He had little patience for us Long Island philistines, but he recognized my talent and encouraged me to learn about the Masters. It was the work of Monet, Henri, and Hopper that inspired my love for Impressionism. Since I have moved to Nyack, Ny, where Mr. Hopper's inspiration is palpable, I have continued to develop as a painter and an illustrator.
