This ink drawing is executed on top of a collage surface. The collage is held together by archival paste and gesso with some touches of charcoal added in. The pieces used to assemble the collage were cut from other drawings created by the artist. It depicts an uptown business in New Orleans, LA called Carol Robinson Gallery. Drawing on the surface is like driving on the city streets. You can get where you're going without too much trouble, but it's going to be a bumpy ride. Neglect, time, and misuse have taken a heavy toll on the Crescent City, but the vernacular persists in spite of all the shortcomings.
