The Greeting

Artist Statement:
With a background in social science, I aim to capture the lived experience of my subjects, with a pictorial representation of their situatedness: context within place and space.
My installations and photographs portray a specific moment in time, but also reflect a nuanced story that spans beyond that specific moment to the relationships the subject has with sentient beings, living organisms, and the world as a whole.
The aim of my work is to inform and aid the viewer in finding an association that affords learning, inclusivity, and interconnectedness.
This photograph "The Greeting" reflects waiting for a loved one and the multitude of feelings the action evokes. The act of wanting to welcome and recognize one we have affection for is universal.
