It Was Written is from a series of "Pages", works on paper that explore language and seek to give a sense of ancient cultures and lost times.
They are primarily painted with gold pigment to suggest something precious. Although the marks are not actually readable, they are "asemic" writing, that is, something that appears like writing is not connected to any actual alphabet. As such, a viewer of any culture can have the same experience of the piece. The work will be custom framed.
