Flowers in a Pitcher
This painting was done with support from Arts Westchester. This study of a late life Cezanne was instrumental in furthering my technique and artistic vision and grounding me in Cézanne's ethos that painting is not about replicating the object but realizing one's sensations. Echoing Cézanne's reflections at the end of his life, this work served as a testament to the utility of his work for future generations. I feel and see differently now when doing plein aire and I think I can express more freedom and honesty as a result.
