This photograph was taken from Fleischman's Pier on the Hudson River in Peekskill, NY, while I was taking a lovely, warm evening walk. I thought I would go out to the point and look down the river. I had no intention of photographing this relatively new, monumental recycling plant. Hardly a picturesque, romantic or historic site. But the evening was magical. An image of Hudson River School paintings flashed through my head as I saw the clouds, the evening light, the gold and silver ripples on the river, and the dark forested shore. I took a few pictures until the clouds glowed golden. I've been back there a few times, this evening was once-in-a-lifetime.
